Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • An egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt

Preheat and Prepare

Get started by preheating your oven to 350°F.

Cream the Butter

Whether you’re using a stand mixer or a trusty hand mixer, it’s time to put that softened butter to good use. Cream the butter for about 2 minutes or until it lightens in color.

Sweeten the Deal

Add the sugar to the creamy butter and beat the mixture for a total of 4 minutes. This step ensures a delightful sweetness throughout your cookies.

Complete the Dough

Now, it’s time to introduce the egg and vanilla extract to the mix. Whip everything together for another minute, until well combined.

Pour in the all-purpose flour and add a pinch of salt to elevate the taste. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, creating the perfect cookie dough.

Load the Cookie Press

Equip your trusty cookie press with the freshly made dough. With your cookie press in hand, place the press onto your baking pan and squeeze the trigger twice for the perfect sized cookie. If you like, top the cookies with colorful sprinkles. It’s a chance to get creative and add a splash of fun to your cookies (optional).

Bake to Perfection

Slide your cookie-laden baking pan into the preheated oven and let your Spritz Cookies bake for about 16-18 minutes.

Cool and Savor

After your Spritz Cookies have had their time in the oven, allow them to cool, but don’t wait too long before you dive in and enjoy these delectable treats!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) butter, softened
  • ⅔ cups (136g) sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups (322g) all purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Sprinkles, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, cream the butter for about 2 minutes or until lightens in color
  3. Add the sugar and beat for 4 minutes
  4. Add in egg and vanilla extract and whip for another minute
  5. Pour in flour and salt and mix until combined
  6. Load a cookie press with the dough and place whichever shape you prefer
  7. Squeeze out the cookie dough by clicking the trigger twice, straight onto a baking pan
  8. Top with sprinkles (optional)
  9. Bake for 16-18 minutes
  10. Allow to cool, then enjoy!

Notes

  1. Stand mixer: I highly recommend a stand mixer for this because the butter needs to be beat until light and fluffy, which typically takes a few minutes. A handheld mixer can be used instead.
  2. Cookie Press: Using a cookie press makes it fun and easy, and it comes with m multiple cute shapes. If you do not have one, you can use a piping bag with a star tip to pipe out the cookies.
  3. Add-ins: You can add any toppings you like, as long as it does not change the cookie dough base. If you would like to use food coloring, you can add a few drops into the dough once its ready and give it a quick mix until combined.
  4. Baking: Use a metal baking pan, and do not butter or use parchment paper, or else the cookies will not press properly.
